Vietnam’s exports to India totalled US$713.24 million in October, a decline of 10.90 percent compared to September, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
Telephones and mobile phones were the top export item, rising by 3.29 percent to US$118.78 million. Computers, electrical products, and spare parts also grew by 6.81 percent, contributing US$114.55 million. Machine, equipment, tools, and instruments surged by 25.59 percent to US$110.21 million.
In contrast, significant declines were recorded in other base metals and iron and steel, which fell by 30.75 percent and 62.63 percent, respectively, to US$47.99 million and US$50.71 million. Chemicals experienced a sharp drop of 55.85 percent to US$13.3 million, and rubber exports decreased by 38.86 percent to US$12.42 million.
On the positive side, exports of other means of transportation and parts rose by 19.64 percent to US$17.12 million. Wood and wooden products grew by 27.07 percent to US$25.1 million, while textiles and garments increased by 15.78 percent to US$16.17 million.
Despite overall declines, some sectors showed resilience, indicating potential areas for Vietnam to expand trade with India in the coming months.
