Vietnam’s paper imports rise by 7.48 percent in December

Vietnam imported US$209.01 million worth of paper in December 2024, a 7.48 percent increase compared to November, according to data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. Year-to-date imports reached US$2.24 billion.

China remained the largest supplier, contributing US$79.86 million, a 13.10 percent increase from the previous month. Imports from Sweden saw the highest growth, surging by 56.47 percent to US$4.72 million. Other suppliers collectively grew by 24.90 percent, contributing US$18.38 million.

In contrast, imports from Indonesia, Taiwan, and Malaysia declined by 2.17 percent, 13.51 percent, and 9.85 percent, respectively. Smaller decreases were observed in imports from India and Russia, which fell by 4.70 percent and 0.53 percent, respectively. Imports from Japan and South Korea showed moderate increases of 6.44 percent and 5.92 percent, respectively.
