Vietnam’s ores and other minerals imports increased by 17.96 percent month-on-month in February, reaching US$236.97 million, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. This brings total year-to-date imports to US$436.16 million, reflecting sustained demand for raw materials.
Brazil remained the largest supplier, with imports rising 40.12 percent to US$86.36 million, making up 36.44 percent of the total. Australia followed, though shipments declined by 26.33 percent to US$62.94 million. Russia saw an exceptional surge of 6,169.54 percent, reaching US$11.62 million.
Thailand and Turkey also posted significant increases, with imports rising by 276.95 percent and 744.34 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, China’s exports to Vietnam fell by 55.29 percent to US$5.36 million.
