Vietnam’s production of non-alcoholic beverages and mineral water increased by 4.8 percent in December compared to November, according to Vietnam’s Industrial Production Index.
Year-on-year, the sector recorded a modest growth of 1.7 percent in December compared to the same month in 2023. For the entire year of 2024, cumulative growth reached 3.7 percent compared to 2023, reflecting steady progress in the industry.
The December monthly increase highlights rising seasonal demand for beverages, including bottled water, during the holiday period. However, the relatively slow annual growth suggests challenges such as fluctuating input costs, shifting consumer preferences, and growing competition within the non-alcoholic beverage market.
Vietnam’s non-alcoholic beverage and mineral water sector is an essential component of the domestic food and beverage industry. With increasing health awareness and a rising middle class, the demand for premium and health-oriented drinks is expected to grow, creating opportunities for further expansion in the sector.
The steady growth in 2024 underscores the sector’s importance while signalling the need for innovation to maintain competitiveness.
