Vietnam’s motor vehicle imports rose nearly 18 percent in March

Vietnam imported US$445.12 million worth of motor vehicles in March, up 17.87 percent from February, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. This brought total imports for the first quarter to US$982.60 million.

Thailand was the largest supplier, contributing US$155.85 million in March, an increase of 24.81 percent. Imports from China and Indonesia followed closely, rising by 34.46 percent and 26.52 percent respectively. The USA recorded a sharp month-on-month increase of over 600 percent to US$1.51 million. Meanwhile, imports from Germany fell 58.27 percent and Russia saw no recorded shipments after February.
