The Industrial Production Index (IPI) for the manufacture of ready-made garments (except apparel) increased by 4.41 percent in November compared to October, reflecting notable month-on-month growth, according to Vietnam’s General Statistics Office. This performance highlights the growing demand for these products in both domestic and international markets.
Year-on-year, the sector saw a rise of 9.39 percent in November 2024 compared to the same period in 2023. Over the first 11 months of 2024, the IPI for this category recorded a cumulative increase of 5.15 percent compared to the same period last year, demonstrating consistent expansion.
This growth is attributed to strong export demand and increased domestic production capacity. Investments in technology and production efficiency, coupled with favourable trade agreements, have further strengthened Vietnam’s position as a leading supplier of ready-made garments for industrial and commercial use.
The manufacture of ready-made garments (excluding apparel) plays an essential role in Vietnam’s textile and garment industry. Continued innovation and a focus on sustainability will ensure that the sector remains a significant contributor to Vietnam’s economic development.
