Vietnam imported US$90.99 million worth of precious stones, precious metals and related articles in March, up 10.07 percent from February, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. This brought the total value for the first quarter to US$229.09 million.
Hong Kong was the largest supplier in March with US$15.85 million, a 41.10 percent increase from the previous month. China’s shipments rose sharply by 194.82 percent to US$11.66 million, while imports from Belgium more than doubled. Meanwhile, India’s exports to Vietnam dropped 15.07 percent, and Switzerland saw a sharp 72.79 percent decline.
