Vietnam’s imports of essential oils and cosmetics rise 31.76 percent in February 2025

Vietnam’s imports of essential oils, resinoids, perfumery, and cosmetic or toilet preparations grew by 31.76 percent month-on-month in February, reaching US$122.95 million, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. This increase follows January’s total of US$93.32 million, bringing the year-to-date figure to US$216.29 million.

Singapore remained the leading supplier, accounting for 29.23 percent of total imports, with shipments rising by 48.76 percent to US$35.95 million. Imports from Thailand and the USA also saw significant growth, increasing by 52.70 percent and 43.50 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, shipments from Indonesia and France recorded the sharpest month-on-month increases, surging by 83.25 percent and 79.29 percent.

On the other hand, imports from the UK and Taiwan declined by 51.36 percent and 50.72 percent, respectively, reflecting shifting trade dynamics in Vietnam’s cosmetic and personal care industry.
