Vietnam imported US$208.94 million worth of electric consumer products and parts thereof in December 2024, reflecting a 27.99 percent increase compared to November, according to data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. Year-to-date imports reached US$2.24 billion.
China was the leading supplier, contributing US$103.22 million, a 20.92 percent increase from November. Thailand followed with US$62.45 million, growing by 34.40 percent. Malaysia recorded the largest month-on-month growth, with imports surging by 114.73 percent to US$21.04 million. Japan also saw significant growth, rising 67.45 percent to US$3.49 million.
Conversely, imports from Taiwan and Spain decreased by 15.21 percent and 47.61 percent, respectively. Other suppliers collectively experienced a decline of 37.21 percent. Imports from Italy, however, rose sharply by 92.33 percent to US$501,909.
