Vietnam’s imports of animal and vegetable fats and oils jump 45.29 percent in March 2025

Vietnam imported US$139.10 million worth of animal and vegetable fats and oils in March 2025, a 45.29 percent increase from February, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. This brought total imports for the first quarter to US$333.27 million.

Indonesia was the dominant supplier, accounting for 61.40 percent of the total at US$101.20 million, more than doubling its shipments with a 103.54 percent month-on-month increase. Malaysia, the second-largest supplier, saw a sharp drop of 35.36 percent, falling to US$17.56 million. Thailand contributed US$7.43 million, down 10.87 percent.

Among smaller exporters, Australia posted strong growth at 141.69 percent, while imports from China rose 48.60 percent. India and the USA recorded declines of 22.12 percent and 18.05 percent respectively.
