Vietnam’s imports of animal and vegetable fats and oils decline 2.74 percent in February 2025

Vietnam’s imports of animal and vegetable fats and oils fell by 2.74 percent month-on-month in February, reaching US$95.74 million, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. This follows January’s total of US$98.43 million, reflecting a slight downturn in import demand.

Year-to-date, total imports have reached US$194.17 million, with Indonesia remaining the largest supplier. Imports from Indonesia accounted for 51.94 percent of the total, despite declining by 7.39 percent. Malaysia followed, contributing 28.38 percent, with a slight drop of 0.72 percent.

Among the key suppliers, Thailand saw the most significant increase, with imports rising by 108.48 percent. Meanwhile, China recorded a sharp decline of 52.81 percent, and imports from Australia dropped by 55.92 percent. Other notable suppliers included India, which saw a 28.41 percent increase, and Chile, which recorded a 14.02 percent rise.
