Vietnam’s gasoline production declines by 3.8% in February 2025

Vietnam’s gasoline production has seen a slight decrease in the first two months of 2025. According to the latest data from Vietnam’s General Office of Statistics, the country produced 1.40 million tons of gasoline in January 2025. In February, this figure increased slightly to 1.40 million tons.

The cumulative total for the first two months of the year reached 2.80 million tons. This represents a 3.8 percent decrease compared to the same period last year. Furthermore, the year-to-date figure reflects a 4.5 percent decrease when compared to the first two months of 2024, indicating a minor decline in production.

Vietnam’s gasoline production is crucial for meeting the domestic demand for transportation and energy. The country continues to rely on both domestic production and imports to fuel its growing automotive sector.

Vietnam’s major gasoline production facilities are located in the southern regions, particularly in areas such as Ba Ria-Vung Tau. These refineries focus on supplying both domestic demand and exports while continuously exploring ways to optimise production capacity.
