Vietnam’s fibre production sector continued its upward trajectory in October, with both monthly and yearly growth indicating steady demand. Vietnam’s industrial production index found a modest .8 percent increase in fibre production from September, suggesting stable month-over-month growth within the industry.
Year-over-year, the sector demonstrated a more robust expansion, with production up 7.4 percent in October 2024 compared to the same month in 2023. Cumulatively, fibre production from January to October 2024 showed a strong 12.8 percent increase over the same period last year. This steady annual growth highlights the sector’s role in supporting Vietnam’s huge textile industry, which relies heavily on fibre production for both domestic and international markets.
Notably, fibre production is benefiting from rising global demand for textiles, positioning Vietnam as a key player in the supply chain. To sustain this momentum, however, the industry may need to focus on innovations in sustainable fibre production to meet increasing environmental standards and ensure long-term growth.
