Vietnam’s fiber production shows strong annual growth

Vietnam’s fiber production increased by 2.3 percent in December compared to November, according to Vietnam’s Industrial Production Index.

Year-on-year, the sector grew by 12.4 percent in December compared to the same month in 2023. For the full year of 2024, cumulative growth was recorded at 12.8 percent compared to 2023, reflecting strong performance throughout the year.

The monthly growth highlights stable production levels driven by demand in the textile and garment industry. The significant year-on-year and annual growth point to increased global demand for Vietnam’s fibers, particularly from major markets like the United States, China, and the European Union.

As a crucial part of Vietnam’s textile supply chain, fiber production supports both domestic garment manufacturers and the export market. The industry has benefitted from technological advancements and trade agreements that enhance Vietnam’s competitiveness on the global stage.

The robust growth in 2024 underscores the fiber sector’s importance in Vietnam’s industrial landscape and its potential for continued expansion in international markets.
