Vietnam’s fertilizer imports decline by 20.83 percent in December

Vietnam imported US$124.34 million worth of fertilizers in December 2024, representing a 20.83 percent decrease compared to November, according to data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. Year-to-date imports totalled US$1.71 billion.

China remained the largest supplier, contributing US$66.53 million, though this was a 21.87 percent decrease from November. South Korea and Malaysia recorded sharp increases, with imports surging by 239.70 percent and 515.07 percent, respectively. Japan and Norway also showed growth, with increases of 14.22 percent and 26.66 percent, respectively.

Conversely, imports from “Other” countries and Laos saw significant declines of 60.59 percent and 21.91 percent, respectively. Imports from Belgium also fell by 41.58 percent. Saudi Arabia contributed US$2.90 million, marking its entry in December import data.
