Vietnam’s exports to the United Kingdom totalled US$687.2 million in October, marking a 13.1 percent increase month-on-month. The year-to-date export value reached US$6.36 billion, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
Exports of machine, equipment, tools, and instruments amounted to US$114.3 million, though this represented a decline of 15.9 percent compared to September. Telephones and mobile phones saw a slight decrease of 1.38 percent, reaching US$78.4 million, while computers, electrical products, and spare parts surged by 50.97 percent to US$109.3 million.
Footwear exports declined by 4.54 percent to US$97.4 million, but textiles and garments increased by 18.03 percent to US$62 million. Notable growth was recorded in exports of other means of transportation and parts, which rose by 168.12 percent to US$26.1 million, and ceramic products, which grew by 111.45 percent.
Coffee exports fell by 46.78 percent to US$7.3 million, while paper and paper products declined by 26.06 percent to US$1.3 million. Fruits and vegetables posted a growth of 24.03 percent, totalling US$4.1 million, and insulated wires and cables increased by 18.9 percent to US$2 million.
The mixed performance of export categories highlights the evolving dynamics of the UK market and presents opportunities for targeted trade strategies.
