Vietnam exported US$442.63 million worth of goods to the Philippines in February 2025, an increase of 8.86 percent from US$406.61 million in January, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. This brought total exports to the Philippines in the first two months of the year to US$849.44 million.
Rice was the top export category, reaching US$158.87 million in February, up from US$125.39 million in January. Other notable exports included machinery and equipment at US$32.14 million, clinker and cement at US$31.74 million, and mobile phones and parts at US$20.68 million. Coffee exports remained strong, totalling US$18.92 million in February.
Exports of computers and electrical products were steady at US$18.03 million, while other transport-related goods reached US$15.22 million. Textiles, footwear, yarn, and fertilizers also contributed to the overall total. Fishery products stood at US$5.91 million, with plastic products and paper also showing consistent demand.
Several smaller categories posted stable or rising shipments, including iron and steel products, chemical products, and pepper. Items such as pastry goods, cashew nuts, cameras, ceramic goods, and glassware made up the remainder of the diversified export portfolio. Notably, exports of coal and fertilizers resumed after no recorded shipments in January.
Vietnam’s export growth to the Philippines in February was led by surging demand for rice, machinery, and industrial inputs, highlighting the Philippines as a vital Southeast Asian trade partner.
