Vietnam’s exports to the Philippines reached US$600.87 million in October, marking an 11.69 percent increase month-on-month with the year-to-date export value reaching US$5.22 billion, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
Rice remained the top export, contributing US$257.79 million, though it saw a slight decline of 1.73 percent compared to September. Machinery, equipment, tools, and instruments followed with US$38.78 million, reflecting a 6.77 percent increase.
Clinker and cement exports surged by 78.88 percent to US$32.87 million, while textiles and garments grew significantly by 71.83 percent, reaching US$15.49 million. Computers, electrical products, and spare parts also rose by 26.26 percent to US$20.78 million.
Fishery products showed strong growth, rising by 70.52 percent to US$17.22 million. Other sectors, including iron and steel, increased by 18.36 percent to US$687,205, and footwear exports climbed by 17.53 percent to US$8.85 million.
However, telephones and mobile phones experienced a decline of 6.59 percent, totaling US$8.05 million. Coffee exports saw modest growth of 4.14 percent, contributing US$19.69 million.
The overall performance highlights robust growth in key export categories, with strong demand for clinker, textiles, and fishery products driving Vietnam’s trade with the Philippines in October.
