Vietnam’s exports to Thailand totalled US$635.29 million in October, representing a slight increase of 0.87 percent month-on-month. The year-to-date export value reached US$6.50 billion, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
Telephones and mobile phones led the exports, growing by 3.29 percent to US$118.78 million. Computers, electrical products, and spare parts saw a rise of 6.81 percent, totalling US$114.55 million. Machine, equipment, tools, and instruments recorded notable growth, increasing by 14.24 percent to US$103.4 million.
Categories showing strong performance included other means of transportation and parts, which surged by 41.56 percent to US$56.09 million, and textiles and garments, which grew by 27.25 percent to US$25.75 million.
However, several key export sectors experienced declines. Iron and steel exports dropped sharply by 62.63 percent to US$50.71 million, while fruits and vegetables fell by 41.74 percent, contributing US$22.66 million. Computers and electrical products also saw a notable decrease of 22.78 percent, totalling US$66.81 million.
Despite these challenges, the positive growth in categories such as transportation parts and textiles indicates potential for further trade development between Vietnam and Thailand.
