Vietnam’s exports to Mexico see significant growth in October

Vietnam’s exports to Mexico reached US$482.81 million in October, marking a robust increase of 14.65 percent compared to September. Year-to-date exports to Mexico totalled US$4.57 billion, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.

Telephones and mobile phones remained the largest export category, contributing US$98.03 million, up 12.11 percent month-on-month. Other products followed with US$84.41 million, although this reflected a significant decline of 29.31 percent. Computers, electrical products, and spare parts grew by 70.95 percent, reaching US$78.23 million, while machinery, equipment, tools, and instruments increased by 14.87 percent to US$62.44 million.

Footwear exports more than doubled, surging by 104.61 percent to US$64.16 million. Exports of toys and sports requisites nearly doubled as well, rising by 98.71 percent to US$10.15 million. Plastic products increased by 39.38 percent to US$7.89 million, and wood and wooden products grew by 36.30 percent to US$6.32 million.

Conversely, some categories experienced declines. Fishery products fell by 16.25 percent to US$7.11 million, and coffee exports dropped by 34.05 percent to US$1.87 million.

The sharp increases in key categories such as footwear, toys, and electronics highlight Vietnam’s strengthening trade relationship with Mexico, despite declines in specific sectors like coffee and fishery products.
