Vietnam’s exports to Japan totalled US$2.17 billion in November, reflecting a month-on-month decrease of 2.88 percent, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. Year-to-date exports reached US$22.43 billion.
Textiles and garments remained the leading export category despite falling 7.94 percent to US$387.94 million. Other means of transportation, parts, and accessories dropped by 2.08 percent to US$276.50 million, while machinery, equipment, tools, and instruments declined 4.07 percent to US$248.23 million.
Fishery products recorded a slight drop of 2.39 percent, reaching US$148.22 million, and wood and wooden products fell sharply by 15.70 percent to US$143.70 million. In contrast, telephone exports surged by 27.54 percent to US$109.70 million, and footwear rose 18.14 percent to US$98.22 million.
Plastic product exports remained relatively stable, recording a marginal decline of 0.15 percent to US$65.20 million.
Vietnam’s exports to Japan continue to face headwinds, particularly in textiles, machinery, and wood products, although gains in phones and footwear provided some relief.
