Vietnam exported US$515.19 million worth of goods to Indonesia in February 2025, up 17.84 percent from January’s US$437.20 million, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. This brought total exports to Indonesia in the first two months of 2025 to US$951.77 million.
The strongest growth came from exports of coffee, which jumped to US$38.29 million in February from just US$6.32 million in January. Iron and steel also saw a notable rise to US$56.40 million, while shipments of telephones and parts remained steady at over US$41 million. Textiles and garments totalled US$37.13 million, and machinery exports reached US$34.78 million.
Other leading categories included chemicals at US$34.93 million, plastics at US$31.41 million, and textile and footwear materials at US$28.55 million. Computers and electronics rose to US$19.29 million, and footwear exports increased to US$13.91 million. Plastic products, paper goods, and yarn all contributed between US$9 million and US$13 million each.
Among smaller categories, coal exports reached US$2.46 million, and rice rose to US$4.20 million. There were consistent exports of iron and steel products, rubber goods, and edible products like sweets and cereal items. Tea, fishery goods, ceramic products, and animal fodder materials rounded out Vietnam’s broad-based export portfolio to Indonesia.
The February increase in exports reflected strong demand from Indonesia for industrial goods, food commodities, and consumer products, reinforcing Vietnam’s growing trade relationship with one of Southeast Asia’s largest markets.
