Vietnam’s exports to Belgium reached US$403.87 million in October, reflecting a significant increase of 43.58 percent compared to September, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. Year-to-date exports have now reached US$3.16 billion.
Footwear led the export categories, growing by 47.99 percent to US$137.49 million. Iron and steel exports also saw a sharp increase of 48.63 percent, contributing US$74.07 million. Handbags, purses, and suitcases grew by 41.42 percent to US$11.32 million, while wood and wooden products increased by 39.93 percent, reaching US$4.72 million.
The export of computers, electrical products, and spare parts recorded the highest growth, surging by 136.78 percent to US$2.25 million. Fishery products also performed well, rising by 18.20 percent to US$13.23 million.
Conversely, certain categories experienced declines. Pepper exports dropped sharply by 50.56 percent to US$0.62 million, while rubber fell by 82.88 percent to US$0.36 million. Precious stones and metals also decreased by 34.07 percent to US$2.69 million.
The robust overall growth in October highlights Vietnam’s strengthening trade relationship with Belgium, driven by increases in key sectors like footwear, iron and steel, and electronics, despite challenges in a few categories.
