Vietnam’s exports of cashew nuts fall 30.24 percent in January
Vietnam’s exports of cashew nuts decreased by 30.24 percent month-on-month in January, reaching US$254.27 million, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. This follows a decline from US$364.51 million recorded in December.
Year-to-date, Vietnam’s total exports of cashew nuts stood at US$254.27 million. The USA remained the largest destination, receiving US$55.10 million, or 21.7 percent of the total, followed by the Netherlands with US$29.88 million, representing 11.7 percent, and China with US$18.01 million.
Among major destinations, Kuwait recorded the highest month-on-month growth, increasing by 164.49 percent, followed by Singapore with a rise of 30.36 percent. In contrast, exports to China, Pakistan, and Egypt saw the steepest declines, falling by 69.31 percent, 87.38 percent, and 79.24 percent, respectively. Other key destinations, such as India, Thailand, and Taiwan, also posted declines, falling by 24.65 percent, 8.10 percent, and 71.78 percent, respectively.
Vietnam’s cashew nut exports continue to be heavily reliant on the USA and the Netherlands, which together accounted for over 33 percent of total exports. While Kuwait and Singapore showed impressive growth, the overall decline from key markets like China and Pakistan highlights shifting demand and market conditions.
