Vietnam’s crude steel production increases by 6.4% in February 2025

Vietnam’s crude steel production has shown steady growth in the first two months of 2025. According to the latest data from Vietnam’s General Office of Statistics, the country produced 1.60 million tons of crude steel in January 2025. In February, this figure increased slightly to 1.68 million tons.

The cumulative total for the first two months of the year reached 3.28 million tons. This represents a 6.4 percent increase compared to the same period last year. Furthermore, the year-to-date figure reflects a 1.2 percent increase when compared to the first two months of 2024, indicating continued growth in the crude steel sector.

Crude steel remains a key component in Vietnam’s manufacturing and construction industries, which continue to expand in both domestic and international markets.

Vietnam’s crude steel production is primarily concentrated in the northern regions, particularly in Hai Duong and Thai Nguyen provinces, where large steel mills and production facilities are located.
