Vietnam’s processing and preserving of aquatic products grew by 3.3 percent in December compared to November, according to Vietnam’s Industrial Production Index.
Year-on-year, the industry experienced robust growth of 14.2 percent in December 2024 compared to the same month in 2023. For the full year of 2024, cumulative growth reached 9.2 percent compared to 2023, reflecting steady progress in this crucial sector.
The month-on-month increase highlights heightened demand for aquatic products during the year-end period, while the year-on-year growth points to consistent improvements in production capacity and efficiency. Vietnam’s well-established seafood export market, coupled with increasing global demand for high-quality aquatic products, has driven this growth.
As one of Vietnam’s most prominent industries, the processing and preservation of aquatic products contributes significantly to the country’s export economy. Key markets, including the United States, Japan, and Europe, have shown continued demand, boosting Vietnam’s position as a global leader in seafood production.
