Vietnam’s export turnover to the Netherlands surged in October, reaching over US$1.2 billion, up 19.98 percent month-on-month and bringing the year-to-date figure to US$10.67 billion, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. Textiles and garments exports grew sharply, rising 41.97 percent month-on-month to US$118.7 million, contributing significantly to the total. Year-to-date exports in this category amounted to nearly US$1 billion.
Meanwhile, wood and wooden products experienced a dramatic rise of 251.03 percent month-on-month, reaching US$11.65 million in October. Rubber products and other base metals also saw strong growth, with monthly increases of 53.86 percent and 47.93 percent, respectively.
Despite overall growth, certain categories saw a decline. Exports of telephones and parts decreased by 23.73 percent month-on-month, falling to US$44 million. Similarly, still image and video cameras dropped by 17.45 percent compared to the previous month.
Year-to-date, Vietnam’s major export categories include textiles and garments (US$998.8 million) and telephones and parts (US$954.8 million). Other notable contributors were wood and wooden products (US$62.6 million) and plastics (US$156.6 million). Vietnam’s robust performance in October highlights its continued expansion into European markets, with significant growth across various export sectors.
