Vietnam Raises US$302.8 million in June 10 Government Bond Auction

Vietnam’s State Treasury raised VND 7.98 trillion (approximately US$302.8 million) through a government bond auction on June 10, representing 46.9 percent of the VND 17 trillion (US$645.2 million) offered across five tenors, according to a release from the Vietnam Bond Market Association.

The auction included VND 500 billion of three-year bonds, VND 6 trillion of five-year bonds, VND 9 trillion of 10-year bonds, VND 1 trillion of 15-year bonds and VND 500 billion of 30-year bonds.

The Treasury sold VND 40 billion of three-year bonds, equivalent to an eight percent allocation rate, at a yield of 3.51 percent per year. Five-year bonds attracted VND 4 trillion in bids and were fully allocated, raising VND 4 trillion at a yield of 4.1 percent.

The 10-year tenor generated the strongest demand, attracting VND 11.05 trillion in bids. The Treasury raised VND 3.9 trillion through the sale, equivalent to 43 percent of the amount offered, at a yield of 4.3 percent.

No 15-year bonds were sold despite VND 350 billion in registered bids. The Treasury raised VND 35 billion through 30-year bonds at a yield of 4.55 percent per year.

Compared with the previous auction, yields increased by one basis point for three-year bonds, five basis points for five-year bonds and three basis points for 10-year bonds.

Since the beginning of 2026, the State Treasury has issued approximately VND 168.5 trillion (US$6.39 billion) in government bonds across tenors ranging from five to 30 years, equivalent to 33.7 percent of its VND 500 trillion (US$18.98 billion) issuance target for the year.

The 10-year tenor has accounted for the largest share of issuance so far this year, with VND 142.62 trillion raised, followed by VND 23.21 trillion through five-year bonds and VND 2.35 trillion through 15-year bonds. Together, these three tenors represent around 99.8 percent of total issuance in 2026.
