Fuel prices cut
The Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance have cut retail fuel prices.
The maximum retail price of E5RON92 gasoline fell VND1,474 to VND21,784 per litre (US$0.83), while 0.05S diesel declined VND785 to VND26,866 per litre (US$1.02). View source→

Double-digit growth target reinforced
Dau Tu Kien Thuc is reporting that Finance Minister Ngo Van Tuan has said the Ministry of Finance remains committed to achieving double-digit economic growth.
This comes after the ministry reported consumer prices rose 5.6 percent year-on-year in May. View source→

New airport services delay approval requested
Dau Tu Kien Thuc is reporting that the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has asked the Ministry of Construction to approve delays for six Long Thanh Airport service projects, including two inflight catering facilities, two ground services and maintenance projects, and two aircraft hangars.
The projects were originally scheduled for completion between June and July 2026, but investors have proposed extending construction deadlines to August 31, with some commercial operations pushed to the fourth quarter. View source→

TikTok VN investment
Dau Tu Kien Thuc is reporting that TikTok is exploring investments in logistics, digital finance and projects linked to Vietnam’s planned International Financial Centre.
Director Nguyen Lam Thanh said the company is studying the establishment of domestic legal entities, particularly for e-commerce operations, to support long-term investment plans and cooperation with regulators. View source→
Bybit in Vietnam
Technode is reporting that Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Van Thang has asked cryptocurrency exchange Bybit to share its experience in developing a regulated digital asset market as Vietnam advances plans for a pilot cryptocurrency exchange.
Thang said Vietnam is seeking international expertise to help develop regulations, supervise trading activities, build technology infrastructure and train personnel for the sector.
Bybit co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Ben Zhou said the company is willing to cooperate with Vietnamese partners and share international experience in regulatory development and workforce training. View source→
LG plant expansion
The Korea Times is reporting that LG Innotek has said it will build a semiconductor substrate plant in Hai Phong, with construction scheduled to begin in July and to be completed in May 2027.
The facility will cover about 330,000 square metres and produce radio frequency system-in-package, flip chip-chip scale package and flip chip-ball grid array semiconductor substrates. View source→
Central counterparty clearing house coming 2027
The Investor is reporting that State Securities Commission Chairwoman Vu Thi Chan Phuong has said Vietnam aims to launch a central counterparty clearing mechanism in the first quarter of 2027.
FTSE Russell and MSCI have both listed the lack of a central counterparty clearing house as a key obstacle to upgrading Vietnam’s stock market. View source→
Petrolimex share sale to meet minimum free-float requirements
The Investor is reporting that Petrolimex plans to sell all 23.3 million treasury shares to meet public company free-float requirements, a transaction worth more than VND900 billion (US$34.2 million) based on June 3 closing prices.
The fuel retailer said non-major shareholders held just over 9.4 percent of voting shares as of March 25, below the minimum 10 percent threshold required under regulations. View source→
Amway fined consumer protections
Vietstock is reporting that the Vietnam Competition Commission has fined Amway Vietnam VND410 million (US$15,560) for four violations related to consumer rights protection.
Authorities said Amway Vietnam failed to provide consumers with a mechanism to choose what information they consented to share and included prohibited clauses in consumer contracts and transaction terms.
The company was also found not to have informed consumers when influencers were sponsored to promote products and to have provided inaccurate or incomplete information in remote transactions. View source→
Stock market Thursday
The VN-Index closed at 1,831.55, up 12.54 points or 0.69 percent, with a total trading value of VND 22,116.53 billion or US$839.34 million, and foreign traders net-selling US$218.48 million worth of equities, Thursday, according to the latest data from the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange.
