Vietnam’s gas industry
Vietnam’s gas industry supplies fuel for power generation, fertiliser production and industrial use, with most output coming from offshore fields in the Cuu Long and Nam Con Son basins.
State-owned Vietnam Oil and Gas Group plays a central role in exploration, production and pipeline infrastructure, often in partnership with foreign energy companies.
Several liquefied natural gas to power projects are under development as Vietnam seeks to diversify its energy mix and reduce reliance on coal.
