Vietnam medicines, medical services prices report sharp November decline

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) for medicines and medical services in Vietnam experienced a significant decrease of 3 percent in November compared to October, reaching 5.28 percent, according to Vietnam’s General Statistics Office. This marks a sharp drop from October’s CPI of 8.28 percent, reflecting a notable easing in healthcare costs.

The sector had previously seen stable figures throughout the year, with September and August both recorded at 8.28 percent and 8.30 percent, respectively. Earlier months such as July and June also showed minimal fluctuation, at 8.13 percent and 8.04 percent.

Healthcare services and medicines remain an essential aspect of household expenditure in Vietnam. Monitoring changes in this CPI category provides insights into the affordability of healthcare services and potential impacts on public access to medical resources.
