Vietnam Market Wrap: VN-Index rises 0.39 percent as foreign investors net sell US$34 million

The VN-Index gained 5.21 points to close at 1,352.04 on June 19, up 0.39 percent for the day. Total trading value reached VND 18,731.53 billion, or about US$720 million.

Foreign trading summary

Foreign investors were net sellers by VND 894 billion, or roughly US$34.38 million, with total buys of VND 1,243 billion (US$47.81 million) and sells of VND 2,137 billion (US$82.19 million).

Foreign investors bought 47.08 million shares (5.65 percent of total volume) and sold 66.24 million shares (7.95 percent).

Top foreign buys:

  • NVL down 0.32 percent to VND 15.55
  • SSI up 1.27 percent to VND 23.90
  • CTG up 1.37 percent to VND 40.70
  • DGW up 6.95 percent to VND 43.85
  • VPB unchanged at VND 18.50

Top foreign sells:

  • FPT down 0.85 percent to VND 116.00
  • STB down 0.11 percent to VND 47.15
  • HPG down 0.92 percent to VND 26.90
  • APG down 2.41 percent to VND 12.15
  • VHM up 0.42 percent to VND 71.70

The market showed a neutral tone, with the index likely to stay in a consolidation range in the coming sessions.
