ToggleIn January, Vietnam exported US$581 million worth of goods to the United Arab Emirates, up 10.62 percent over December, according to preliminary data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
So far this year, Vietnam has exported US$581 million worth of goods to the UAE.
Vietnam exported US$329.99 million worth of phones to the UAE in January. This was up from US$220.10 million in December, a change of 49.93 percent.
Adding to that, Vietnam exported US$51.94 million worth of computers to the UAE in January. This was down from US$72.35 million in December, a change of -28.20 percent.
It also exported US$30.54 million worth of machines, equipment, tools and instruments to the UAE in January. This was up from US$24.37 million in December, a change of 25.31 percent.
Vietnam also exported US$20.07 million worth of textiles and garments to the UAE in January. This was up from US$18.06 million in December, a change of 11.15 percent.

Vietnam trade with the UAE
In January, Vietnam imported US$34.11 million worth of goods from the UAE and exported US$580.83 million to the UAE, for total trade worth US$614.94 million, and leaving a trade surplus of US$546.72 million.
Two-way trade so far this year between Vietnam and the UAE has reached US$615 million, with Vietnam importing US$034 million worth of goods and exporting US$581 million worth of goods.

Recent developments involving the two countries include:
FPT-UAE data centre agreement
FPT Group and the United Arab Emirates technology group G42 agreed to invest up to US$1 billion in a hyperscale data centre, artificial intelligence and cloud computing infrastructure in Vietnam.
The framework agreement covers jointly building and operating internationally standardised data centres serving the public sector, businesses and international partners.

Vietnam-UAE trade relations
Vietnam and the United Arab Emirates established diplomatic relations in 1993, laying the foundation for expanding trade and investment ties.
Bilateral trade has grown steadily over the past decade, with the UAE serving as one of Vietnam’s largest export markets in the Middle East and a regional re-export hub.
The two countries signed a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement in 2023, aimed at reducing tariffs and facilitating market access across goods and services.
Cooperation has expanded into energy, logistics, halal certification, and infrastructure, reflecting efforts to deepen economic integration and support Vietnam’s broader engagement with Gulf economies.
