In January, Vietnam exported US$535 million worth of goods to Taiwan, down 12.19 percent over December, according to preliminary data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
So far this year, Vietnam has exported US$535 million worth of goods to Taiwan.
Vietnam exported US$144.59 million worth of computers to Taiwan in January. This was down from US$189.31 million in December, a change of -23.62 percent.
It also exported US$111.16 million worth of machines, equipment, tools and instruments to Taiwan in January. This was down from US$121.12 million in December, a change of -8.23 percent.
It also exported US$26.83 million worth of iron and steel to Taiwan in January. This was up from US$23.09 million in December, a change of 16.21 percent.
Vietnam also exported US$21.81 million worth of textiles and garments to Taiwan in January. This was down from US$24.40 million in December, a change of -10.61 percent.

Vietnam trade with Taiwan
In January, Vietnam imported US$3,606.77 million worth of goods from Taiwan and exported US$534.55 million to Taiwan, for total trade worth US$4,141.32 million, and leaving a trade deficit of US$3072.22 million.
Two-way trade so far this year between Vietnam and Taiwan has reached US$4,141 million, with Vietnam importing US$3,607 million worth of goods and exporting US$535 million worth of goods.

Vietnam-Taiwan trade relations
Vietnam and Taiwan have developed extensive trade and investment ties since the early 1990s, when Taiwanese manufacturers began relocating production to Vietnam following Doi Moi reforms.
Taiwan is among the largest foreign investors in Vietnam, particularly in electronics, textiles, plastics and supporting industries, with firms such as Foxconn expanding production capacity.
Bilateral trade has grown steadily over the past two decades, with Vietnam exporting machinery, agricultural products and seafood, while importing intermediate inputs and high-tech components from Taiwan.
