Vietnam’s dairy products industry

Vietnam’s dairy industry is growing steadily, driven by rising incomes, urbanisation and increasing demand for nutritional products such as milk, yoghurt and infant formula.

The market is led by domestic producers alongside imported products, with companies such as Vinamilk and TH Group playing key roles in production and distribution.

Despite expansion in local farming, Vietnam remains reliant on imports for milk powder and raw materials, particularly from New Zealand, the United States and Europe.

Policy efforts are focused on improving herd quality, expanding domestic supply and reducing import dependence while supporting higher value-added dairy processing.
