Vietnam Bond Market Report March 2026: Key Takeaways

Vietnam corporate bond issuances in March totalled VND 16,311 billion (US$619.02 million), including private placements and public offerings, according to Vietnam Bond Market Association data.

Private placements reached VND 11,616 billion (US$440.83 million) and public offerings VND 4,695 billion (US$178.19 million), while the first-quarter total reached VND 24,802 billion (US$941.63 million).

Marina Centre Investment led the issuances with VND 10,195.5 billion (US$387.02 million) in private bonds, followed by Ho Chi Minh City Development Bank with two public tranches totalling VND 4,693.6 billion (US$178.17 million).

EVN Finance also issued VND 450 billion (US$17.08 million) in private bonds, while MB Securities raised VND 970 billion (US$36.80 million).

Tenors ranged from 2 to 10 years, with interest structures including both fixed rates and floating rates linked to bank deposit benchmarks.

Enterprise redemptions also reached VND 6,298 billion (US$239.02 million), down 37 percent year-on-year, with the report also noting that VND 175,987 billion (US$6.68 billion) of bonds are set to mature later in 2026.

Secondary market transactions of privately issued bonds reached VND 151,283 billion (US$5.74 billion), up 63 percent month-on-month, with 10 delayed payment announcements totalling VND 2,205 billion (US$83.69 million).

Upcoming corporate bond issuances.

The report also notes that Thanh Thanh Cong – Bien Hoa JSC has approved a 2026 plan to issue VND 1,000 billion (US$37.95 million) in convertible, unsecured bonds via public offering.

The bonds will have a two-year maturity, a 9.5 percent annual coupon, and a face value of VND 100,000 per bond.

Viet Dragon Securities Corp has also approved a plan to issue VND 300 billion (US$11.39 million) in non-convertible, unsecured bonds via private placement.

These bonds will have a one-year maturity, an 8.5 percent annual coupon, and a face value of VND 100 million per bond.

Government bonds.

Finally, the Vietnam State Treasury in March 2026 held 16 bond auctions offering VND 54 trillion (US$2.05 billion), with a 36.2 percent average winning rate.

10-year bonds dominated issuance, accounting for 98.8 percent of winning value at VND 19.32 trillion (US$733.17 million), while other tenors saw minimal or no uptake.

Average maturity reached 9.99 years, with the average winning yield rising to 4.11 percent from 4.08 percent in February.

First-quarter issuance totalled VND 80.1 trillion (US$3.04 billion), meeting 72.8 percent of the quarterly plan and 16 percent of the 2026 target.
