Vietnam exported US$108.71 million worth of goods to Sweden in August, down 8.89 percent from US$119.33 million in July, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
Year-to-date exports stood at US$854.41 million.
The decline was led by textiles and garments, which fell 33.38 percent to US$12.40 million, and machinery, which dropped nearly 30 percent to US$13.15 million.
Footwear also slipped sharply, down 44.64 percent to US$2.87 million.
By contrast, mobile phone exports rose 6.21 percent month-on-month to US$36.91 million, consolidating their position as Vietnam’s largest export category to Sweden with 29.28 percent of total shipments.
Computers and electronics also gained 22.32 percent to US$14.58 million, while wood products rose 38.54 percent to US$2.25 million.
Vietnam’s trade with Sweden remains concentrated in technology-driven and consumer goods, with phones, computers, and garments making up more than half of export value.
However, the August decline underscores volatility across categories, especially in labour-intensive sectors like apparel and footwear.
