Tourist from Oceania to Vietnam grow by 7.35 percent in November

Vietnam welcomed 48,341 tourists from Oceania in November, representing a month-on-month increase of 3,311 visitors or 7.35 percent, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Tourism. Australia led the way with 44,039 arrivals in November, up by 9.03 percent from October, while New Zealand contributed 4,162 tourists, marking a slight decline of 8.22 percent. Other Oceania countries added 140 visitors, an increase of 35.92 percent.

Year-to-date, arrivals from Oceania reached 484,623, showing a 32.1 percent growth compared to the same period last year.

Australian and New Zealand tourists often head to destinations such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and the beach resorts of Phu Quoc and Nha Trang, known for their blend of cultural and leisure attractions. The UNESCO-listed site Halong Bay also remains a significant draw for Oceania travellers.

Key airlines operating between Oceania and Vietnam include Vietnam Airlines, Qantas, and Jetstar, offering direct flights from Sydney, Melbourne, and Auckland to Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. Connecting flights from other regional hubs further enhance travel options.

The consistent growth in tourist arrivals from Oceania highlights Vietnam’s enduring appeal among long-haul travellers, supported by strong bilateral ties and improved air connectivity.
