Technical fabrics: Vietnam exports down 7.36 percent in April, USA top destination

Vietnam’s exports of technical fabrics reached US$64.66 million in April 2025, according to figures released by Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. This represents a decrease of 7.36 percent compared to March, with a year-to-date (YTD) export value of US$255.66 million.

USA remains the top export market despite a slight decrease:

The USA was the leading export market in April, with exports valued at US$17.34 million. This marks a slight decrease of 6.84 percent from March but still accounts for the largest share of the year-to-date exports at 26.01 percent.

South Korea and Japan see significant decreases:

Exports to South Korea experienced a substantial decrease of 16.16 percent in April, falling to US$5.84 million. Exports to Japan also saw a significant decrease of 16.88 percent, reaching US$5.14 million. These markets account for 10.98 percent and 7.34 percent of the year-to-date exports, respectively.

Indonesia and Thailand see substantial growth:

Exports to Indonesia surged by 55.01 percent in April, reaching US$3.96 million. Exports to Thailand also increased by 11.18 percent, reaching US$3.87 million. These markets account for 4.13 percent and 5.89 percent of the year-to-date exports, respectively.

Significant month-on-month increases and decreases:

Canada experienced the largest month-on-month increase at 58.76 percent, followed by Indonesia and China. Conversely, Argentina experienced the most significant increase as there were no exports in March, followed by Japan and South Korea.
