Vietnam recorded 91,373 tourist arrivals from Taiwan in January, accounting for 4.4 percent of total international visitors, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Tourism. This marks a 17.9 percent decrease from December but an 8.5 percent increase year-on-year.
Taiwanese hotel brands have been expanding their presence in Vietnam in response to the growing number of Taiwanese tourists visiting the country, as well as the increasing number of Taiwanese businesses operating in Vietnam. Major Taiwanese hotel chains, such as The Howard Plaza Hotel and Hotel Royal have established properties in key Vietnamese cities, including Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang.
Taiwanese hotels in Vietnam typically cater to the needs of both Taiwanese tourists and business travelers, offering services and amenities that cater to Taiwanese preferences, including Chinese-language services, Taiwanese cuisine, and facilities designed for the comfort of business professionals. These hotels also attract local guests, particularly those in the business, leisure, and hospitality sectors, as they are known for their high service standards and comfort.
The growing presence of Taiwanese hotels is in line with the rising popularity of Vietnam as a tourist and business destination for Taiwanese citizens. Vietnam’s proximity, competitive prices, and vibrant culture make it an attractive destination for Taiwanese tourists, and the increasing number of Taiwanese investors in sectors like manufacturing, retail, and technology in Vietnam has contributed to the demand for quality accommodations.
With tourism between Taiwan and Vietnam growing, and the increasing number of Taiwanese expatriates and business operations in Vietnam, Taiwanese hotel brands are likely to continue to expand in the Vietnamese market, further strengthening the ties between the two economies and contributing to the local hospitality industry.
