ToggleVietnam imported goods worth US$98.06 million from Switzerland in September 2025, up 30.53 percent from August, according to preliminary data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
Imports of machinery, equipment, tools and instruments increased 70.24 percent to US$44.27 million.
Computers and electrical components rose 26.83 percent to US$11.33 million, and pharmaceutical products grew 39.98 percent to US$10.29 million.
Precious metals and stones rose 22.88 percent, plastic products 13.97 percent, and milk and dairy products 64.11 percent.
Chemicals jumped 112.11 percent, and cosmetics and essential oils surged 138.20 percent from small bases.

Vietnam trade with Switzerland
Vietnam’s total trade with Switzerland reached US$111.74 million in September 2025, up 24.69 percent from August.
Imports from Switzerland rose 30.53 percent to US$98.06 million, while exports fell 5.61 percent to US$13.68 million.
The trade balance remained negative for Vietnam at US$84.38 million in September, widening the year-to-date deficit to US$489.71 million.

Vietnam-Switzerland trade relations
Vietnam and Switzerland have maintained diplomatic relations since 1971, with economic and development cooperation as key pillars of their partnership.
Switzerland is among Europe’s notable investors in Vietnam, while Vietnam is viewed as a dynamic and growing market for Swiss businesses.
Both countries are working toward a free trade agreement under the European Free Trade Association framework to enhance market access and investment opportunities.
