The VN-Index closed at 1,666.48, up 5.78 points or 0.35 percent, with total market trading value at VND 27.17 trillion (US$1.04 billion), according to the latest data from Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange → view source.
Foreign investors recorded a net outflow of VND 758 billion or US$29.15 million on September 29, with total activity valued at VND 5.45 trillion or US$209.6 million
The sharpest net-selling by foreign traders was in financials.
SSI Securities (SSI), Vietnam’s largest brokerage, saw 46.5 million shares sold.
Saigon-Hanoi Bank (SHB) and Military Bank (MBB), two major commercial lenders, recorded net sales of 35.2 million and 30.9 million shares respectively.
Large state-owned banks VietinBank (CTG) and Vietcombank (VCB) also faced notable foreign exits.
In industrials, Hoa Phat Group (HPG), the country’s leading steelmaker, was a rare bright spot with a net inflow of 2.8 million shares, showing selective foreign confidence in construction-linked demand.
Vietnam Rubber Group (GVR) and Duc Giang Chemicals (DGC), key players in natural rubber and fertilisers, saw modest net selling.
Real estate and property finance presented a split picture.
VPBank (VPB), a major retail and property-finance lender, was the top foreign buy with 37.2 million shares net purchased.
In contrast, Vinhomes (VHM), the largest property developer, saw foreign net-selling.
Consumer-oriented stocks were also under pressure.
Mobile World Group (MWG), the top electronics and retail chain, Vinamilk (VNM), the dominant dairy producer, and Sabeco (SAB), the country’s largest brewer, all recorded net foreign outflows.
