Vietnam produced 1.44 million tons of steel bar and angle steel in May 2025 and an estimated 1.50 million tons in June, according to data from the National Statistics Office.
Total output for the first six months of the year reached 7.34 million tons.
Compared to the same period last year, June output rose 22.9 percent and the six-month total increased 13.9 percent.
Vietnam’s steel industry plays a critical role in infrastructure and construction.
It is supported by both domestic firms and foreign-invested enterprises, with major production hubs in the north and central regions.
