Vietnam produced 33.4 million pairs of leather shoes and sandals in May 2025 and an estimated 35.2 million pairs in June, according to data from the National Statistics Office.
Cumulative output for the first six months of 2025 reached 182.7 million pairs.
Compared to the same period in 2024, June output rose 26.1 percent, while the six-month figure increased 14.3 percent.
Vietnam is one of the world’s largest producers and exporters of leather footwear, supplying major global brands and retailers.
The industry includes a mix of foreign-invested factories and local manufacturers, with production hubs concentrated in the southern provinces and the Red River Delta.
