Vietnam welcomed 7,196 tourists from Poland in December, a decrease of 2,433 visitors compared to November, reflecting a month-on-month decline of 25.27 percent, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Tourism. Polish arrivals reached 51,157 in 2024, though the data shows an unusual figure of -100 percent year-on-year growth, likely due to a reporting anomaly or incomplete data from the previous year.
Polish tourists are drawn to Vietnam’s mix of culture and natural beauty, with popular destinations including Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hoi An, and Halong Bay. Beach destinations like Phu Quoc and Da Nang are also favoured by Polish travellers for relaxation and tropical charm. Many Polish visitors also explore eco-tourism options, including trekking in Sapa and visiting rural areas.
Travel from Poland to Vietnam typically involves connecting flights through European hubs like Frankfurt, Paris, or Istanbul, as there are no direct routes. Airlines such as Qatar Airways, Emirates, and Turkish Airlines facilitate these connections, ensuring accessibility for Polish tourists.
The significant drop in December could be attributed to seasonal factors or competition from other holiday destinations during the winter period. However, Poland remains an important emerging market for Vietnam’s tourism, and efforts to promote Vietnam as a unique and affordable destination are expected to sustain growth.
