Despite the overall month-on-month decrease, several countries remain vital suppliers to Vietnam, with the year-to-date total for this product category standing at $4,959,025,743.
In June 2025, the top five sources by dollar value for Vietnam’s imports of plastic products were:
China
China emerged as the top supplier in June, with import values reaching $572,507,883.
This represents a -7.51 percent month-on-month change from May.
China’s year-to-date total for these imports stands at $3,051,402,930, accounting for 61.53 percent of all YTD imports in this category.
South Korea
South Korea followed as the second-largest source, with June imports valued at $120,859,501.
This figure indicates a -12.11 percent month-on-month change.
South Korea’s year-to-date total for these imports is $733,511,772, representing 14.79 percent of the total YTD imports for this product category.
Japan
Japan secured the third position in June with imports totaling $82,249,367.
This indicates a 13.80 percent month-on-month change.
Its year-to-date contribution to Vietnam’s imports of plastic products is $434,860,413, making up 8.77 percent of the total YTD imports.
Taiwan
Taiwan contributed $25,553,644 worth of plastic products in June.
Notably, Taiwan experienced a -9.56 percent month-on-month decrease.
Taiwan’s year-to-date total for these imports is $159,157,734, accounting for 3.21 percent of the total YTD imports for this product.
Thailand
Thailand rounded out the top five import sources with $21,601,101 in June imports.
This country saw a -9.46 percent month-on-month decrease.
Thailand’s year-to-date total for these imports is $125,378,444, representing 2.53 percent of the total YTD imports for this category.
