Vietnam’s exports of pastry, sweets and cereals products reached US$97.49 million in April 2025, according to figures released by Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. This represents a decrease of 9.66 percent compared to March, with a year-to-date (YTD) export value of US$390.38 million.
USA remains the top export market despite a significant decrease:
The USA was the leading export market in April, with exports valued at US$13.97 million. This marks a substantial decrease of 19.48 percent from March but still accounts for the largest share of the year-to-date exports at 14.95 percent.
Japan sees a significant decrease:
Japan was the second-largest export market in April, with exports valued at US$9.93 million, a significant decrease of 19.68 percent from the previous month. Japan accounts for 10.87 percent of the year-to-date exports.
South Korea sees a slight decrease:
Exports to South Korea experienced a decrease of 7.66 percent in April, reaching US$7.26 million. South Korea accounts for 7.77 percent of the year-to-date exports.
China records moderate growth:
Exports to China saw an increase of 13.60 percent in April, reaching US$6.26 million. China accounts for 5.55 percent of the year-to-date exports.
Significant month-on-month increases and decreases:
Singapore experienced the largest month-on-month increase at 22.38 percent, followed by France and Kazakhstan. Conversely, Japan experienced the most significant decrease at 19.68 percent, followed by USA and Cambodia. Notably, there were no exports to Czech Republic in April after exports in March.
