Vietnam’s paper and paper products industry has experienced steady growth, driven by rising domestic demand, export opportunities, and increased investment in modern production facilities. The industry plays a crucial role in supplying packaging materials, printing paper, tissue products, and industrial paper for various sectors, including manufacturing, retail, and education.
The demand for packaging paper has grown significantly, fueled by the rapid expansion of e-commerce, food and beverage industries, and exports. Corrugated packaging, kraft paper, and carton boxes are widely produced to support Vietnam’s manufacturing and export activities. Many local and foreign companies have invested in expanding production capacity to meet this growing demand.
Printing and writing paper remain essential for education, publishing, and office use, though digitalization has led to slower growth in this segment. Tissue and hygiene paper products, such as napkins, toilet paper, and paper towels, have also seen increased production, supported by changing consumer lifestyles and urbanization.
Despite strong output, the industry faces challenges such as fluctuating raw material costs, environmental concerns related to deforestation and waste management, and competition from imported paper products. To address these issues, many manufacturers are shifting toward recycled paper production and adopting sustainable practices to reduce environmental impact.
