Oceania tourist arrivals in Vietnam rise in January

Vietnam welcomed 72,243 tourists from Oceania in January, accounting for 3.5 percent of total international arrivals, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Tourism. This marks a 30 percent month-on-month increase from December and a 7.1 percent rise year-on-year.

Australia led the region with 66,504 arrivals, up 30 percent from the previous month and 7.1 percent from the same period last year. New Zealand also recorded a strong increase, with 5,604 tourists visiting Vietnam, reflecting a 31 percent month-on-month rise and a 7.4 percent year-on-year growth. Meanwhile, the “Other Oceania” category experienced a slight decline of 10 percent compared to December but still recorded a 17.4 percent increase from January last year.

Vietnam remains a popular destination for travelers from Oceania, drawn by its vibrant cities, natural landscapes, and diverse cultural experiences. Key destinations for visitors include Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang, and the coastal resorts of Nha Trang and Phu Quoc.
