Vietnam’s imports of animal fodder falls in January
Vietnam imported US$304.27 million worth of animal fodders and animal fodder materials in January, reflecting a 33.42 percent decline from December, according to data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
Vietnam’s electronic components manufacturing slows in January but remains strong
Vietnam’s electronic components manufacturing recorded a 216.2 percent increase in January compared to the 2019 baseline, according to Vietnam’s Industrial Production Index. However, this was a decline from December 2024, when output stood at 278.2 percent above 2019 levels.
Wholesale, retail, and repair of cars, motorbikes sector in Vietnam records US$72.43 million in January FDI
In January, Vietnam’s wholesale, retail, and repairs of cars and motorbikes sector registered a total of US$72.43 million in new foreign direct investment (FDI) across 84 new projects, according to data from Vietnam’s Ministry of Planning and Investment. This represents an increase of US$32.6 million compared to December, which saw US$39.8 million in registered capital. However, the number of new projects was down from 102 in December.
Beverage and tobacco prices in Vietnam rise in January
Beverage and tobacco prices in Vietnam increased by 0.69 percent in January, with alcohol prices rising by 0.8 percent and cigarette prices increasing by 0.7 percent, according to the Vietnam’s Consumer Price Index.
Oceania tourist arrivals in Vietnam rise in January
Vietnam welcomed 72,243 tourists from Oceania in January, accounting for 3.5 percent of total international arrivals, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Tourism. This marks a 30 percent month-on-month increase from December and a 7.1 percent rise year-on-year.
